Moringa for psoriasis
Although it is possible to have two types of these conditions occur simultaneously, most patients generally suffer from one form of psoriasis at a time. The signs and symptoms of the different types of psoriasis include:
Plaque psoriasis
This causes raised, inflamed, red lesions covered in a silvery white scale. They are typically found on the elbows, scalp, knees and lower back. Plaques are itchy, sore conditions that appear on the skin. Skin around joints may crack and bleed in severe cases. Guttate psoriasis is sometimes known as tear drop psoriasis or raindrop psoriasis.
Plaques are usually small, with 1 cm size and it is the first stage. They are widespread and occur anywhere in the body. They affect chest, arms, legs and scalp. Some signs and symptoms of nail psoriasis may also be present. It occurs after a throat infection and is more common among teenagers and children.
As opposed to plaque psoriasis, inverse psoriasis does not exhibit scaling. Inverse psoriasis is denoted by inflamed, red, patches of skin. It can be highly itchy and painful. In case, the skin rubs together in the folds, symptoms will be aggravated. Normal sweating in the skin folds may also worsen affected areas. Commonly affected areas include armpits, groin, skin between buttocks and skin under breasts. There are three main types, and they affect different areas of the body with distinct symptoms:
Von zumbusch psoriasis
Pustules appear across a wide area of skin and they develop rapidly. Pus is made up of white blood cells. In a period of weeks the skin becomes shiny and smooth pustules may appear, or even a few days at the start of a cycle the patient may experience fever, chills, fatigue and weight loss.
In Palma planter pustular psoriasis, pustules may occur on the soles of feet/ the hand palms. They develop into round, brown, scaly. There may be cycles of recurrence, within few weeks.
Acropustulosis
Pustules may start on fingers, toes and they may burst. These leave bright red areas, which becomes scaly skin patch.
Erythrodermic psoriasis
In this condition, whole body can be covered with a fiery red rash. There is usually intense itching and an intense burning sensation. There is widespread inflammation. Shedding of skin, at this stage itching, burning and swelling is more severe. Body will lose proteins and fluid, leading to dehydration and hypothermia.
